The wind has been blowing all day today but we don’t mind as it makes it less hot.
We headed towards Monkey Mia today, unfortunately they had already fed the dolphins when we arrived but when we went in there were lots of dolphins still swimming in the bay. We also saw pelicans, more emus and a turtle. Emus seem to be everywhere round here!! in the streets and on the beach
Bob also saw a mini shark, so I decided not to swim in the sea!
I think they have built this resort up a lot since you were here Dad , a bit like the penguins in South Africa!!
We discovered however that our entrance fee entitled us to use the resort swimming pool so we enjoyed this opportunity to relax by the pool for a bit., although the flies were a bit of a pain so it was necessary to wear the fly nets when not in the water. The flies are worse than normal here because of the rain last week we have been told.
The water in the pool was salinated . There were showers also with salinated water.
Round here they use desalinated water in their houses as there are no reservoirs . We spent about 4 hours at Monkey Mia in all taking photos and swimming.
After dinner we walked down to the seafront and watched the sunset while enjoying some beer. Spectacular sunsets here almost every night!! The wind is a lot worse now howling round the houses, I hope it changes by the morning as......
Tomorrow we have booked to go on a 4 wheel drive trip with the owner of this apartment. No doubt there will be plenty of flies but hoping to see something we can’t see using our own vehicle.
